The biggest names in music were out in force on the red carpet as well as some international favourites including the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nelly Furtado.
The Scissor Sisters kicked off the night with the most expensive performance in the history of the show and so many back up dancers, they had their own dressing room.
Also on the line-up for the night was Amy Winehouse, Corinne Bailey Rae, Snow Patrol and Oasis, who performed four of their hits including 'Don't Look Back In Anger'. They picked up the award for Outstanding Contribution to Music and Noel revealed that it was the first time that they have ever performed at a ceremony. Usually they just pick up their prize and party.
The biggest comeback act of the year has to go to Take That. The boys may have been without Robbie, who has checked into rehab, but they're more than capable of keeping the Take That fans happy. They picked up the award for Best Single and received a standing ovation from the crowd.
It seemed to be a bit of a theme of the night to bring a parent, first there was Lily Allen who brought along Dad Keith, (who was also presenting) and then there was Scissor Sisters Jake who brought along his Mum. The Osbourne clan were out on force as well. Whatever happened to having a date on Valentine's Day?
Finally there was Russell Brand. He just had to take someone on didn't he. This time, judging from her interview with us, it seem to be Amy Winehouse. Watch out Russell, we wouldn't fancy messing with her!
